public class UniverseJFrame
extends javax.swing.JFrame

This class allows all of the JFrame objects in Universe to have a consistant interface. This was originally created to fix bug 11, but can be extended to make consistant backgrounds, etc...

setVisible

This method has been extended by this subclass to ensure that if a refresh is required prior to becoming visible, it will be done.

needsRefresh

public boolean needsRefresh()
This method returns true if the contents of the window are known to be out of date with the state of the game and thus should be refreshed.


setNeedsRefresh

public void setNeedsRefresh(boolean newValue)
This method sets whether or not the contents of the window are known to be out of date with the state of the game and thus should be refreshed.

Parameters:
newValue - True if a refresh is needed, false otherwise.

refreshIfNeeded

public void refreshIfNeeded()
This method is called when a refresh of our contents may be required. If needsRefresh() is true the a refresh done via a call to refresh().


refresh

public void refresh()
This method is called when a refresh of our contents may be required. If needsRefresh() is true this method will update the data used by the window to match the current state of the game, and then force a repaint so the new data is displayed. The needsRefresh attribute will be false after this method is called. Subclasses are expected to extend this method to handle any specific component updates which may be required.
